USAGE

To determine the burst strength and the burst energy absorption (BEA) of paper or board.

DEVICE DESCRIPTION

The burst tester comes with an integrated touch screen, which allows an intuitive operation. The device is built in a sturdy aluminium frame and is equipped with 1 measuring head for bottom measurement of the bursting strength. The measuring range is up to 5 000 kPa for paper and up to 8 000 kPa for cardboard with an accuracy of ±1% of the displayed value. Clamping force for the sample holder is adjustable from 1 000 N to 7 500 N. Maximum sample height is 12 mm. The display of burst value as BEA (Burst Energy Absorption) is possible as well. The automatic test cycle has a break detection and after the break it returns back automatically to its starting position.
